Online
baby showers are becoming more and more common. MommyParty.com,
says that there is a need out there. Many moms come to us because they
live far away from their family, but still want to have a baby shower.
They really need the support of their loved ones.
Living
far away from your friends and family is common nowadays. You go to
college in another state, meet someone, settle down there, and then
before long....your pregnant! How wonderful that your baby is on the
way, but wouldn't it be nice to share those pregnancy moments with the
people back home?
What happens
when you are in your eighth month of pregnancy and want to invite friends/family
to your baby shower? Is it possible for everyone to travel to see you
- not likely. Is it possible for you to travel to see them - well, that
depends on how far along you are in your pregnancy and if your doctor
will allow travel. Since most baby showers are given in the eighth month
of pregnancy, travel can be difficult, if not forbidden. Here are some
tips on creating a long distance baby shower.
1. If everyone
lives in the same town and you live far from them, have them throw you
a baby shower and videotape it. Then, send the tape to you.
2. Use
an online baby shower service.
This is ideal if you have friends/family that live all over the country/world.
You basically host the party at a website and all of your guests attend
from their computers.
3. For
hostesses who live in the same town as the mom-to-be: The hostess could
send invitations out to all of your guests. In the invitations, ask
them to send their gift to the hostess and to play a game. Games could
be: who will baby look like, make a wish for the mom in while in labor,
and baby stats! Once the party box is filled with the gifts and game
answers, the hostess wraps it all up and sends it to the mom-to-be.
A big party box! How much fun!
Baby showers
are a way of showing support for the expectant parents. Especially when
they live far from their family and friends.
